Christy has been in the animal industry for almost a decade.
She started as a kennel attendant at a local grooming
shop in Glendale, and in just over a year, worked her
way up to groomer. After working part-time in the evenings
as a traveling groomer, Mike and Carrie Marble, the owners
of Bark N Scratch Outpost, offered to build a grooming
shop specifically for Christy and her talents. After years
of grooming all over town, she opened her own shop on
the Bark N Scratch premises. On July 1st, 2008, DiamondZ
Pet Spa was officially open for business!!!
DiamondZ Pet Spa owes its name to a rambunctious Rottweiler
by the name of Diamond. Diamond and Christy met back in
1999 when Diamond was just a six-week-old pup. They have
been together ever since. Why the "Z" at the
end you ask? Well, you would have to check with Christy's
8 year old daughter to be sure, but we believe it may
have something to do with her love for BratZ Dollz.
Christy is supported by her husband James, who has helped
her follow her dreams and make Diamondz a reality so she
may help owners and animals live healthy, clean lives.
Not only does Christy's daughter help with important decisions
such as naming the family business, but she is also often
found on premises answering phones and supervising daily
activities. Other members of the family include Diamond
who was mentioned above, an 8 year old Yorkie that was
adopted from a previous, elderly customer who could no
longer care for him, and a 6 year old male cat that was
adopted from the Wisconsin Humane Society.
The grooming world is constantly advancing, and because
of this, Christy regularly attends continuing education
seminars and classes to stay current on new products and
techniques.
Christy is a holistic groomer. Because of this, Christy
only uses safe cleaning products in the spa and never
uses harsh chemicals on your dog or cat.
Licking of the paws and eye drainage are not a normal
thing, and Christy would never ask you to buy products
that only mask the problem. These issues are signs of
a toxin in the body and 9 times out of 10 the source is
your pet's food!! Health issues are often related to your
pet's diet, and Christy can help you with ideas and healthy
alternatives that will help get you and your pet up and
on the right track to a long, healthy life.
